Alen Sun, BS

Originally from Beijing, China. I joined our lab as a student from ASU in 2022 and now work as a Research Assistant for Dr. Ofori. In addition to my lab duties, I also contribute my skills to Banner Health Physical Therapy. Following my graduation from ASU, I will pursue a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.

My research experience with Dr. Ofori has been more than an academic pursuit; it has been a journey of discovery about the potentials of physical therapy. Understanding the relationship between the brain, motor control, and aging has deepened my appreciation for the challenges faced by patients with neurodegenerative disorders. Similarly, recognizing the connection between gait patterns, balance, and cognition has intensified my understanding of the difficulties faced by geriatric patients with risk of falls. As a future physical therapist, I am committed to integrating scientific research into clinical practice.

Outside the lab, I am passionate about fitness and sports. With over six years of weightlifting experience, I embody the discipline and strength required both in and out of the gym. My favorite sports are Soccer and tennis. Christiano Ronaldo serves as my greatest inspiration and role model.
